Kansai University (Chairman: Keiji Shibai; hereafter, Kansai University) and Ricoh Company, Ltd. (President and CEO: Akira Oyama; hereafter, Ricoh) are pleased to announce that Ricoh's space-grade perovskite solar cells have been installed on the nano-satellite "DENDEN-01," developed by Kansai University, for an on-orbit demonstration experiment.

"DENDEN-01" was officially handed over to the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (President: Hiroshi Yamakawa; hereafter, JAXA) on June 4. The satellite is scheduled to be launched to the International Space Station (ISS) this fall, where it will be deployed for demonstration experiments. During its approximately six-month mission, the performance of the perovskite solar cells will be evaluated.
